Superintendent highlights student-made plaque, describes weather plan; board thanks community donors

During the Jan. 20 meeting the superintendent presented a plaque made by high‑school woodshop students to honor board members and recognized the student craftsmanship and photography that produced personalized plaques for each board member.

"This plaque was proudly made by our talented students in the wood shop program here at the high school under the leadership of mister Boriello," the superintendent said, thanking staff who helped produce the recognition pieces (Superintendent, S7). Board members accepted the recognition and several members publicly thanked the woodshop teacher and the business administrator for their work.

The superintendent also reviewed the district's approach to weather‑related delays and closures, describing coordination with the director of plant services, township authorities and a district weather team. "On our team, we have a weather team, and we are in constant communication all throughout the weekend," he said, noting that transportation and student/staff safety remain the primary considerations (Superintendent, S7). The superintendent said he would provide community messages as necessary.

In community updates, a board member thanked the Old Bridge Elks for donating shirts for transition students, and SEPTA and CTE programs were highlighted for student‑led activities and opportunities. The board moved into a closed executive session and a member noted a recent NJDOE funding‑policy update that staff will review further with the business administrator.

The superintendent said the plaque presentation concluded his report and indicated staff will follow up publicly with recognition details and a group photo.
