The Hainesport Township Board of Education approved a slate of Human Resources and Student Services items at its Sept. 24 meeting, including ratified hires, the rescission of a prior employment offer, and contracts for student services.
Under Human Resources the board voted to rescind the offer of employment to Patrick Green for Grade 5 and ratified several new hires. The minutes list Stephanie Collura and Tyler Kazmierowicz as paraprofessionals and Lynda Gerdelmann as a lunch/recess aide; the board also approved Anthony Procopio as Assistant Principal under an individual contract (attachment HR-1 referenced in the minutes). The board approved professional development registrations for staff and ratified an extensive list of volunteers.
In Student Services the board approved policy revisions (including P2200, P5337, P5350 and others) and authorized guest-speaker visits (author Jason Patterson and retired FDNY Lieutenant Joe Torillo). The board approved multiple out-of-district placements for the 2024–25 school year with listed per-student costs (examples: one placement at $59,433.00 and several around $45,986.00–$46,890.00 for 180 days). The board also approved contracts for Let’s Talk Speech and Empower AAC and a $17,000 parent-transportation contract for two McKinney-Vento students.
During the meeting, C. Smith, speaking on behalf of the Hainesport Education Association, said the association was "so grateful for the promotion of Mr. Fisher to Prin and filling the Asst Prin position because of how important that position is in keeping the school’s positive climate and culture moving forward; thanked Mr. Corn for his efforts to make these things happen." The minutes record the board’s approval of these items by roll call.
