The Susquehanna Township Shade Tree Commission met Thursday and approved a permit application for work at 300 Montrose Street and agreed that staff will review the township’s shade tree assistance program with management.
Chairman William Allen called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m. Ray Davis moved to approve the minutes of the previous Shade Tree meeting; Commissioner David Roccasecca seconded and the motion carried, 4-0.
During a discussion of the shade tree assistance program, commission members asked staff to review the program with township management to determine next steps or adjustments. The review was recorded as a staff action item; no formal changes or funding decisions were made at the meeting.
On permit business, members noted the removal of one tree on Montrose Street and one on 3rd Street associated with the application for 300 Montrose St. The commission said that any future root-pruning work at the site will require a permit. Pat Carroll moved to approve the application; Roccasecca seconded and the motion passed, 4-0.
Under new business, Zoning Officer Mack Breech introduced Township Commissioner Richard Norford to the commission. With no further business, Pat Carroll moved to adjourn; Roccasecca seconded and the meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
The commission set its next meeting for Feb. 19, 2026, pending applications for review. The minutes were submitted by Drew Ehrich, Code Enforcement Officer.
