The Denison City Council reviewed a proposed option and land lease with New Singular Wireless PSC LLC, which represents AT&T, and authorized staff to allow AT&T to proceed with site-plan and engineering work so the company could determine feasibility.
City staff said AT&T requested a council signal to proceed with site-plan work before investing in detailed engineering. Staff reiterated that any final site plan and engineering documents would return to council for formal approval and that council could reject unacceptable plans at that later stage. “If there are no comments, I will give them the green light to start the site-plan review,” the City Manager said.
A councilmember moved to allow the company to proceed with the site-plan review conditionally; the motion was seconded and the roll call recorded affirmative responses. No final lease was executed at this meeting; the action authorized staff to permit AT&T to invest in the next phase of engineering and design with the understanding that final approvals will come back to council.
Council members emphasized they retain the right to reject any final site plan or engineering that fails to meet city standards.
