The Borough of Ogdensburg Mayor and Council recommended that the New Jersey Department of Transportation award the Plant Street Improvements Phase II work to three Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council vendors, the council recorded in Resolution 64‑2023 (amended). The recommended awards list Schifano Construction Corporation at $118,071.40, Campbell Foundry Company at $1,036.00 and Denville Line Painting, Inc. at $1,787.72, for a combined total of $120,895.12, subject to Department approval.
The recommendation was included on the consent agenda and approved by unanimous roll call during the Aug. 28 council meeting. The resolution directs the presiding officer to sign the contract in the prescribed form and directs the borough clerk and mayor to attest and seal the contract, pending NJDOT approval.
Why it matters: the project is listed as a NJDOT‑funded improvements program for Plant Street in Ogdensburg and, if approved by the Department, will authorize local road work and associated painting and foundry services using cooperative purchasing contracts. The council’s action is a recommendation to NJDOT rather than a final contract award by the State; final award and contract execution depend on NJDOT’s approval.
CFO Mike Marceau and borough legal counsel confirmed the recommended vendors and bid amounts in the resolution language. No public comment was offered on the item when the consent agenda was approved.
The borough’s resolution lists the vendors and bid amounts in full and requires departmental approval before execution; the council did not vote on a separate appropriation at this meeting. The council may revisit implementation details once NJDOT completes its review.
