Victor Central board elects Lisa Kostecki president, installs officers and adopts code of conduct
Summary
At its July 9 organizational meeting, the Victor Central School District board elected Lisa Kostecki as president and Elizabeth Mitchell as vice president, administered oaths of office, approved consent and organizational items, and accepted the 2026–27 District Code of Conduct on final read.
Lisa Kostecki was elected president of the Victor Central School District Board of Education on July 9, and Elizabeth Mitchell was elected vice president, the board announced at its organizational meeting.
The board nominated and approved its officers by roll-call vote after motions were made and seconded. Dr. Adams nominated Kostecki for president; the nomination was seconded by Tim DeLucia and approved unanimously. Kostecki then nominated Mitchell for vice president; the nomination was seconded and likewise carried.
Superintendent Timothy Terranova administered the oaths of office. Terranova also took the oath for superintendent and thanked staff and trustees for their leadership. The board directed that Mitchell’s oath be administered upon her return to the meeting.
After officer elections, the board approved the meeting agenda and, on the superintendent’s recommendation, voted to approve organizational items for the 2026–27 school year and consent items a–j. Trustees also recognized two retiring teacher aides, Kelly Jelinis and Stephanie Adamczyk, and thanked local youth organizations including Victor Little League and a district swim club for their support of athletics programs.
On policy matters, the board accepted the 2026–27 District Code of Conduct as a final read; the superintendent noted the district-level safety plan will be presented for approval at the August board meeting following the required public hearing and 30-day review period. Board members were reminded to review and sign Policy 6110, the district code of ethics, before leaving the meeting.
The board approved several student trips — including varsity football to Clinton, N.Y. (July 19–22), girls varsity soccer to Livonia, N.Y. (Sept. 4–5), and the senior class trip to Boston (April 2027) — by unanimous vote.
The meeting adjourned at about 7:47 p.m. with congratulations to newly sworn members and thanks to staff and community partners.
