Peapack and Gladstone council adopts police vehicle purchase and $1.14M capital appropriation

The Peapack and Gladstone Borough Council on Tuesday adopted two ordinances: one to authorize purchase of a police vehicle and another to appropriate funds for capital improvements.
Ordinance 11‑69‑2026 authorizes spending $39,995 held by the borough to purchase a police vehicle for the Peapack & Gladstone Police Department. Council members said the vehicle will either be stored until funds are available to outfit it for patrol use or may serve in another municipal capacity until then.
The council also adopted Ordinance 11‑70‑2026, which appropriates $1,141,594 from the general capital fund, $325,000 from the Open Space and Recreation Trust Fund, and $50,000 from the Sewer Capital Fund for various improvements across the borough. The ordinance will be published by title as required by law.
In consent business the council approved a raffle permit for an event at St. Luke’s on Sept. 26 and approved payment of bills totaling $596,326.20. The council also approved a sewer bill adjustment for a resident after a review of an unexplained October 2025 billing spike.
All motions to adopt the ordinances and the bills resolution passed on roll call; two council members recorded abstentions on the minutes approval earlier in the meeting.
