During the meeting members asked for an update on monitoring and the status of money received from the Department of Taxation. A member asked, "how we're doing with monitoring and what's become of the money that comes from the Department of Taxation for that purpose?"
Staff replied the authority had received money from VLCF and anticipated an agenda item at the next meeting to allocate the funds. The presenter said the monitoring position is filled: "Montana Loca ... is still our field monitor. She works 30 hours a week, and is paid with the money" used for monitoring.
Members requested additional detail on monitoring cadence and staffing levels (for example, whether there is a three-year monitoring plan and how many easements are monitored annually). Staff said it would present a monitoring update and proposed allocations at a future meeting.
