Committee members discussed near-term maintenance projects and how to stage equipment and crews to access washed-out trails and parking approaches.
Speaker 1 confirmed culvert work at Colburn Trail and gave dates: “17th and 18th,” for the planned culvert/bridal repair, noting access will likely be via Fremont Junction because of flooding. Members agreed they may need to bring equipment from the back road and that some sections will require culverts and reshaping rather than simple fill.
On Temple Mountain and the Bulwark Trail, members discussed straightening a steep turn, moving dirt, and the challenge of where to place excavated material. Speaker 6 said the group planned to coordinate with road crews and that one-day fixes were possible once logistics and approaches were confirmed. The committee also discussed grader priorities and a volunteer single-track crew arriving for several days of work.
