Board approves North Wilkesboro Art Walk and renews Art Gallery lease

Community Development Director Taylor Berry presented the Art Walk plan, which staff said has generated strong public interest and will expand through downtown due to the number of participating artists. Berry requested permission for a chalk artist to work in B Street Park and to place a stage in Apple Festival Park; Commissioner Michael Parsons moved to approve the event and related requests and the motion passed unanimously (5-0).
Town Attorney Victoria Brooks presented an updated lease for the Wilkes Art Gallery that, Brooks said, reflected prior arrangements and had the gallery’s approval. Commissioner Sandra Espin moved to approve the lease; Commissioner Alex Hamilton seconded the motion and it passed unanimously (5-0).
Staff did not report objections or public comments on either item during the meeting record.
