Board authorizes advertisement of draft data center regulations for the Industrial District
Summary
East Bradford supervisors authorized advertisement of a draft data center ordinance that would add regulatory standards for data centers in the Industrial District; without the ordinance data centers would be permitted by default in that district but without additional standards.
The Board reviewed a draft Data Center Ordinance prepared with input from the Township Solicitor and authorized staff to advertise the draft for public review. The draft would allow data centers in the Industrial District subject to provisions that establish standards and conditions; without such an ordinance data centers would already be permitted in the Industrial District by default but without additional regulations.
Debbie Maynard moved to authorize advertisement; Chair Jeff Huckabee seconded the motion and it passed without discussion. Staff indicated the Solicitor participated in development of a regional Data Center Ordinance Guide and used that guidance in preparing the draft.
