Resident warns one-way road plan would add miles to commutes as Board seeks more study

The Board reviewed a Gilmore & Associates feasibility study on July 2, 2026 that evaluated converting portions of Valley Creek Road, Sunset Hollow Road and Ravine Road to one-way operation to reduce roadway maintenance and protect eroding edges.
Resident Vince Pompo, who has lived at the Sunset Hollow and Valley Creek intersection for more than 30 years, told the Board the proposed changes would add "approximately three miles" to his routine travel and said many neighbors would be similarly affected. Pompo acknowledged that one-way restrictions could reduce maintenance costs but argued that maintenance alone is not a sufficient long-term justification for restricting traffic circulation and urged the Township to perform a comprehensive analysis of improvements needed to preserve two-way operations.
Board members agreed additional evaluation is warranted. With Township Engineer Mark Lucas absent, supervisors asked staff to return with a comparison of long-term costs and benefits of one-way operation versus maintaining two-way traffic before considering any circulation changes.
