Paramus honors promoted police officers, administers firefighter oaths and receives accreditation award

Mayor DiPiazza and the Paramus Borough Council opened the March 24 meeting with recognition for the borough's public-safety personnel.
Chief Robert Guidetti thanked the mayor and council for supporting the police department, acknowledged officers and their families, and provided brief biographical remarks for promoted officers Connor Nutland and Michael Mordaga. Firefighters were administered oaths of office during the presentation portion of the meeting.
Harry Delgado, accreditation director with the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, presented the Paramus Police Department with an achievement award; Mayor DiPiazza welcomed Mr. Delgado and highlighted the department's accomplishments.
Council members and the mayor offered congratulations to the newly promoted officers and to the volunteer firefighters. No formal action was required for the promotions and awards beyond the ceremonial recognition; subsequent agenda items addressed staffing appointments and departmental resource purchases.
