Tom Milligan (speaker 8), chair of the Historic District Commission, asked the board to reappoint John Dyer and William Van Zant as full members and to reappoint Jerome Brightman and Chris Day as alternates, with terms and expiration years specified. The chair moved to approve the slate and the board voted in favor.
A board member introduced a candidate for deputy treasurer and recommended her appointment; the candidate (speaker 9) gave a brief summary of her 40 years of public service and said she had already been sworn in. The board moved, seconded and voted to approve the candidate.
Under other business the board reviewed a letter from the Lions Club asking to take surplus aluminum bleachers at the transfer station for use at motocross events. Staff said the bleachers had been donated to the town previously and that some sections remain; members asked staff to inspect the structures and prepare an 'as is' release if the town approves donation to the Lions Club.
All motions for these items were approved at the meeting; the board did not add further conditions beyond inspection and staff follow-up.
