The Campton Board of Selectmen voted July 14 to reduce the speed limit on Beech Hill Road from 35 mph to 25 mph, add Pond Road to the town's speed-limit ordinance (it was posted but not listed), and correct the description for Perch Pond Road.
Police Chief Kevin Foss explained the requested changes, noting the existing posting for Pond Road had not been incorporated into the ordinance. Selectman Karl Kelly moved to make the ordinance corrections and reduce Beech Hill Road’s posted speed to 25 mph; Selectman Sherrill Howard seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also discussed missing road signs and directed staff to implement the ordinance updates and correct posted signage. No specific effective date for the ordinance amendments was announced in the meeting minutes; staff follow-up is expected.
