CDR migration moves provider survey data to iQIES schemas; some legacy data will remain archived

Paul provided estimated target dates for remaining migrations: Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Health Centers planned for July 13; psychiatric residential treatment facilities and community mental health centers planned for August 10; hospital providers targeted for late September 2026 (tentatively Sept. 21 or 26); CLIA migration in progress with completion planned by November 2026 and accrediting organization information expected by December 2026.
Paul emphasized the practical effect for users: once a provider type has been migrated to iQIES, its data will no longer be updated in the KEYS/CASPER schemas. "So the data will still be there from a lot of the provider types, but it's frozen," Paul said. He added that KEYS schema tables will remain available for roughly three months for validation and cross‑checking, after which they will be removed to prevent queries against stale data.
Retention caveat: users asked whether providers with terminations more than 10 years ago will be migrated; Paul said the retention policy means there is not a plan to load that older archived data back into iQIES. "I believe the retention policy is 10 years or 3 survey cycles," he said.
Metadata and dictionaries: Paul said the data dictionary is being integrated into Databricks and the Unity catalog and that the iQIES schemas will include schema and code value definitions; provider deficiency information is available in a citation table and summarization work is ongoing to reproduce CASPER‑style summaries.
Next steps: users should plan to switch queries to the iQIES_ schemas for migrated provider types, validate queries during the roughly three‑month cross‑QA window, and consult the catalog/dictionaries in Databricks for mapping details.
