Trustees report spring cleanup, tree and fence repairs; Boy Scouts to place veterans' flags May 16

Lane Hodgkin of Hodgkin’s Painting & Maintenance completed spring cleanup across the cemeteries, though the contractor reported a negative encounter with a property owner abutting Sanborn-Smith Cemetery on Swiggey Brook Road and still finished the work.
Ian Berkeley reported he had removed debris from a fallen tree that originated on his property and agreed to schedule and pay for repairs to a damaged chain-link fence at Leavitt Cemetery; the minutes note that the tree slightly tipped the gravestone of Chellis Call.
Trustees arranged volunteer support and commemorations: a Boy Scout troop will assist in placing flags on veterans' graves at Pineground Cemetery on May 16 at 1:00 p.m., and the trustees purchased Betsy Ross–design flags to mark Revolutionary War veterans' graves in honor of the nation's 250th birthday. Brenda Boswak and Ruth Hammen will also place flags.
The trustees reported no progress on soliciting bids for tree removal and planned to request an update at the Department Heads meeting the next day.
