Council discusses financing for lead service lines, PFAS projects and Kunkel Park repairs

Mayor Davy said he and borough staff — including Borough Administrator GP Caminiti, Council Member Stern, bond counsel and a person identified as "Mr. Smith" — met with the I-Bank to lay out plans for lead service-line replacements and potential PFAS treatment projects. Council Member Valenza asked that the council hold a discussion on how to pay for the lead-line work.
Separately, the Department of Public Works requested a resolution to repair a wooden fence along King George Road near Kunkel Park and to address a guardrail that requires repair. Caminiti said the administration will review the matter with the Joint Insurance Fund and verify the property line before proceeding; the repair costs were proposed to be charged to Open Space funds.
No financing decisions or repair contracts were approved at the work session; both matters were placed on the tentative regular agenda for further action.
