Pennington announces CFO hire, interim payroll administrator and new deputy-clerk ordinance

Pennington Borough officials on April 27 previewed a set of administrative appointments and procedural resolutions, including a planned hire for the finance office and a proposed new Deputy Clerk position.
Borough Administrator GP Caminiti said Lubna Muneer will begin as the borough’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on June 15, working part time until that date. Caminiti also said Jackie Nagin will assume interim payroll and human-resources benefits duties effective May 1, and Zoe Storck will serve as a communications intern working with the library’s graphic-design and communications efforts.
Caminiti said a new ordinance to establish the position of Deputy Clerk would define roles and responsibilities for that post. The tentative agenda also lists a resolution to change borough signature authorities (certified financial officer) and a resolution to permit electronic purchase orders and signatures rather than requiring wet signatures.
Borough Attorney Walter Bliss asked to table a proposed memorandum of understanding with ARRIVE/capital health; no final action on the MOU occurred at the work session. The council also discussed using the firm Suplee, Clooney as an as-needed backup for payroll and accounting services.
