Fire Chief Tim Robinson asked the Select Board on May 5 for $5,183.62 from the Government Vehicle Repair Expendable Trust to complete repairs on Rescue 2. The Board declined to approve the request on the spot and asked for one week to review trust balances and alternatives before voting.
Chief Robinson also updated the Board on operations, saying the department has responded to 190 calls year-to-date and completed training in EMS trauma, water shuttling and machinery rescue. He noted an engine is currently down for repairs and that radios are scheduled for reprogramming on May 11–12.
The Board assigned a one-week review of the Government Vehicle Repair Trust balance and related highway/fire repair needs before returning to the Rescue 2 request. The deferral allows the Treasurer and Board to consider funding options and confirm available expendable trust funds.
