Newry selectmen approve minutes, renew one cannabis license and authorize routine town business

The Town of Newry Selectmen convened at 9 a.m. Oct. 23 at the Town Office and approved routine administrative items, including minutes, warrants and one cannabis license renewal.
Selectman Virgil Conkright moved to approve the minutes from Oct. 1, 2024; Selectman Mandy Berry seconded and the board voted unanimously to approve the minutes. Warrants presented at the start of the meeting were recorded as approved.
On licensing, Selectman Mandy Berry moved to renew the cannabis license for Jar Co.; Selectman Conkright seconded and the motion passed unanimously. A separate renewal for a license identified as JAMY remained incomplete because the town had not yet received the renewal fee.
The board also voted to approve replacement of the town administrator’s office windows and to sign the Region 9 warrant and Notice of Election; both motions were seconded and approved unanimously. Members received the FY23 audit book for review and approved a motion to have auditor RHR continue check reconciliation through October and to train Deputy Clerk Amy R. Henley.
