Selectman Gary Wight moved and Selectman Mandy Berry seconded a motion to adopt the Employee/Volunteer Motor Vehicle, Driver’s License and Background Investigation form; the board approved the motion unanimously on July 16.
The minutes record that the board decided to start fresh and run checks on all employees and volunteers. The minutes do not include the text of the form, any effective date for the checks, whether consent forms will be required, or who will administer the background investigations.
The adoption establishes a board-level policy direction for personnel screening; staff will need to implement the form and process and return to the board with any operational or legal clarifications if required.
