Interim Planning Director Dustin Minchew presented a request May 11 to close and abandon a former 1,012-foot portion of Roscoe Mixon Road that was displaced by a land swap intended to realign the roadway.
Minchew said the former segment runs from North Clough Bay Road to the portion remaining connected to the new route. The county-approved land swap relocated the active roadway and staff now seek to release title or control of the former alignment to adjacent property owners.
No members of the public spoke in support or opposition during the public hearing. County staff recorded the item as added to the Regular Meeting agenda for formal consideration and any required legal steps to effectuate the abandonment and transfer.
Next step: The board will consider the abandonment and any required conveyance at a future regular meeting (date noted on the agenda record as June 8, 2026).
