Crested Butte council swears in Kate Guibert, confirms committee posts and keeps Magner as mayor pro tem

The Crested Butte Town Council unanimously appointed and sworn in Kate Guibert on Nov. 17, 2025, to fill a council seat through the Nov. 2, 2027 election.
The council approved the appointment on a motion by Beth Goldstone, seconded by Gabi Prochaska, with a roll call vote recorded as unanimous. After the vote the council administered the oath of office to Guibert and to other newly seated members, including Beth Goldstone and John O'Neal.
Council also confirmed committee and regional assignments at the meeting. The council voted to appoint Gabi Prochaska to the Regional Transportation Authority and Mountain Express, Mallika Magner to the Public Art Commission and Kate Guibert to Region 10; one vacancy remains on the West Elk Scenic Byway Committee. Prochaska or Mayor Ian Billick will attend Gunnison Valley Transportation Planning Region meetings as needed.
Separately, Gabi Prochaska moved and Beth Goldstone seconded a motion to continue Mallika Magner as mayor pro tem; that motion carried unanimously.
The council recognized outgoing member Anna Fenerty and voiced appreciation for her service. The meeting record shows that Fenerty voted on the agenda and consent agenda before vacating her seat.
