The Town of Darmstadt Council on May 20 authorized Street Superintendent Mick Moreland to hire an acceptable, licensed and insured contractor to perform weed ordinance mowing and cleanup work when the town needs violation abatement. Mallory Lowe said the request came from Moreland and the council agreed he may choose an acceptable contractor; Moreland is to provide a list or contract details as requested.
On personnel matters, Council Member Cecil Poag presented performance evaluations and proposed $1,500 grossed‑up bonuses for the street and wastewater superintendents. Poag moved the bonuses and Ray Engler seconded; the council approved the payments by a 3‑0 voice vote. The clerk‑treasurer will issue the checks to the two employees.
No further board or attorney comments were recorded, and the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
