Fire Department report (submitted by Brandon Zimmer and read by Council President Eric Gries) listed: 5 EMS transports, 2 motor vehicle accidents with injury, 2 power line/electrical calls, 2 severe weather‑related calls, 2 smoke alarm/HazMat investigations, and 1 community paramedic call. The department’s average response time for the month was 6 minutes 34 seconds.
Sheriff Deputy Johnson reported VCSO activity in Darmstadt including 58 extra patrols, several traffic enforcement actions, accidents (including a hit‑and‑run), burglar alarms and other routine services.
Cecil Poag read the maintenance report: 34 locates, 14 service calls, pothole patching, septic tank inspections and ongoing septic pumping. Poag said staff have been working on GIS for the sewer department and that Mick and Aaron (maintenance staff) will remove manholes to help cut down on inflow and infiltration into the sewer system.
Council President Eric Gries also mentioned pursuing a Community Crossings grant to support future milling and road repairs. The council declined an offer to place a cell tower on Old State property; Clerk‑Treasurer Lowe will notify the agent. The meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
