Darmstadt council approves Phase 3 GIS contract (~$75,000), $42,334 road re-striping and moves to sell broken Mahindra tractor

Maintenance report (read by Council Member Cecil Poag) described sewer repairs, equipment moves and the next phase of the town’s GIS work. Poag said maintenance logged 55 locates and 45 service calls last month, addressed a sewer line break on Jordan Lane, relocated a pump station on Fleener Road, and installed a new sewer tap on Hoing Road.
Poag told the council that GIS work is entering Phase 3, which will include ground-penetrating radar, and said the Phase 3 contract will cost about $75,000; he moved to continue with the Phase 3 contract and said they would sign a written contract the following day. The council approved the motion by voice vote.
Poag presented an Elite Striping estimate of $42,334 to re-stripe town roads. Clerk-Treasurer Mallory Lowe suggested using the Town’s Local Road & Street Fund, which she said would leave roughly $17,000 remaining for the rest of the year; Poag moved to approve re-striping and the motion passed.
On equipment, Ray Engler reported the new John Deere tractor has arrived and is functioning. Engler said the Mahindra remains broken; he will obtain two appraisals (or spend up to $100 for one) and asked to send the Mahindra to Juncker for sale with a minimum price of $45,000; Engler moved, Kahre seconded, and the motion passed.
All motions related to Phase 3, striping and tractor disposition passed by voice vote as recorded in the minutes.
