Crest Hill council approves consent agenda including fleet and infrastructure contracts

The Crest Hill City Council on July 6 approved a 21-item consent agenda that cleared purchases, professional service agreements and contracts for city projects and operations.

Front and center were three equipment purchases pulled for discussion: a 2027 air-tow trailer ($21,530), a 2027 Ford Police Interceptor Utility with a comprehensive canine equipment package ($63,707.87), and a 2027 Ford Police Interceptor Utility with a patrol equipment package ($59,457.13). "We made the decision to keep the current K-9 vehicle as a spare," Deputy Chief Ryan Dobbsick said, adding that a non-hybrid vehicle was recommended for the canine unit because hybrids can shut off while idling and compromise climate control for the dog.
