An applicant withdrew a variance request for reconstruction of an elevated deck at 2202 Lake Shore Drive during the Town of Long Beach Board of Zoning Appeals meeting on June 10, 2026.
Attorney Brad Adamsky appeared on behalf of petitioner Mike Moore and submitted additional return receipts from the neighbor-notification mailing and a photo for the record. The petition sought two variances from Section 154.052(A), which governs construction and location standards for accessory structures, because the reconstructed deck would sit within 6.5 feet of the side setback.
The public hearing was opened. There were no oral comments in person or via Zoom. One written letter in opposition, submitted by John Wall of 2022 Juneway and filed in his capacity as Deputy Fire Chief of LBVF, was read into the record. Adamsky responded to the points raised in the letter. During the board’s discussion about whether the work would expand an existing nonconformity or correct it, Adamsky withdrew the variance request on behalf of the petitioner; no vote on the petition’s merits was taken.
The meeting then moved to adjournment and ended at 7:32 p.m.
