The Long Beach Parks & Recreation Board opened May 26 with routine approvals and ended the meeting with a motion to pursue rezoning of park areas.
The board approved the March 24, 2026 minutes on a motion by ME, seconded by PW, with roll call recorded as all in favor. The board likewise approved the RVI May 5, 2026 minutes (motion by ME; second TG; roll call: all in favor).
Under new business, members discussed that parks are currently in residential zoning, which requires variances for typical park work. PW moved that the board proceed with investigating rezoning park areas and consult the Willoughby town attorney and the Advisory Planning Commission (APC) and Town Council; TG seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting in favor.
The meeting adjourned at 6:56 p.m. on a motion by PW, seconded by ME with a unanimous roll-call vote. The board scheduled its next meeting for June 23 at 6 p.m. in the Town Center.
