DARMSTADT, Ind. — The Darmstadt Town Council on Sept. 17 authorized purchasing livestreaming equipment and a website to meet a new state House bill deadline for live‑streaming public meetings.
Council member Ray Engler briefed the council on the requirement and proposed a basic camera and laptop solution estimated at $2,020. Engler also proposed a new website that would be livestream‑ready; Clerk‑Treasurer Mallory Lowe added that the website should support online bill pay to work with Keystone's upcoming program. The minutes record a website cost estimate of $5,188 and an annual web‑hosting fee of $675.
Cecil Poag moved and Crystal Kahre seconded a motion to purchase a webcam, website and laptop to meet the requirement. The motion passed on a 3‑0 voice vote with Engler recorded as abstaining.
The minutes do not record further details about procurement timing, vendor selection or a budget appropriation line; council staff are tasked to proceed with the purchase and implementation steps recorded in the minutes.
