Waldo trustees approve ordinances, change payday, adopt logo and approve licenses and vouchers

The Village of Waldo Board of Trustees on July 14 approved a package of administrative changes, code updates and village branding while handling routine licensing and financial business.
Trustee Michael Hintz moved and Trustee Jerry Hammarlund seconded adoption of Ordinance 2025-09, an amendment to Chapter 33, Article III (Constable) of the Village code to reflect current law-enforcement practices; the motion carried. The board also approved Ordinance 2025-10 to create three standing committees—Parks; Grounds and Buildings; and Streets—each to include two board members and two village residents in an advisory capacity. President Travis Thomas seconded that motion and it carried.
The board approved Resolution 2025-09 to change the employee payday from Tuesday to Friday; Trustee Hintz made the motion and Trustee Hammarlund seconded.
Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Gillette reported favorable background checks for two operator-license applicants. Trustee Hintz moved to approve operator's licenses for Shoba Sharma and Nabin Dangi of J Mart 4; President Thomas seconded and the motion carried.
The board adopted new mission and vision statements and approved logo option #2 with the addition of the Pollard tree and a bench after review of several designs. Trustee Michael Hintz moved to adopt the mission and vision and the logo; Trustee Joshua Behr seconded and the motion carried.

Trustee Hintz moved to approve payment of the vouchers and President Thomas seconded; the motion carried. Trustee Dennis Reinemann moved to approve the treasurer’s report as presented and Trustee Hintz seconded; that motion also carried.
Next steps: the appointment of a municipal attorney and a request to open the Millpond Dam spillway for study were tabled for the August meeting pending additional information and engineering bids.
