The Village of Waldo Board of Trustees addressed several community infrastructure and service issues during its June 9, 2025 meeting.
Residents of the Hunter’s Grove addition and developer representative Todd Haas raised concerns about when Deer Trail Road would be paved and asked when water and sewer infrastructure would be installed. According to the minutes, Haas stated the water and sewer infrastructure would be installed by the end of the year. Trustee Dennis Reinemann moved to place the topic back on the July agenda so the board can follow up; the motion carried.
Jack Parrish, president of the Waldo Pond Improvement Association, asked the board to begin a conversation about the pond’s water quality, proposed forming a committee, and suggested partnering with Stantec to seek funding for water-quality studies. President Travis Thomas moved to carry this preliminary discussion to the July 14 board meeting; the motion carried.
On emergency services, the board reviewed a list of building maintenance needs submitted by the Waldo Fire Department. Trustee Dennis Reinemann moved to approve the list and President Travis Thomas moved to amend the motion to approve the list while the board discusses how to fund the items; Trustee Michael Hintz seconded the amendment and the amended motion carried.
The board also approved sending a drafted letter to the Sheboygan Falls School District about school bus stop safety. Informational updates included the May police report (three citations, five warnings, 94 property checks, one complaint, 15 hours of service and 152 miles traveled) and that the Waldo Fire Department reported five calls in May (one grass fire, two structure calls, one wire down, one CO call and one storm cleanup call).
