LANETT, Ala. — The Lanett City Council unanimously approved a package of routine actions at its Sept. 4, 2025 regular meeting, adopting a weed‑nuisance resolution, accepting a tourism grant for the Recreation Department and awarding a contract for cast‑iron gas line replacement.
Mayor Jamie L. Heard presided over the meeting in Lanett Council Chambers. Councilmember Tony Malone moved to approve the meeting agenda and later moved to approve the Aug. 18 minutes; Councilmember Tamalita Autry seconded the agenda motion and seconded the minutes approval. Both motions were recorded as carried unanimously.
The council adopted Resolution 09‑25‑02, a determination of weed nuisance, on a motion by Councilmember Tony Malone with a second from Councilmember Angelia Thomas. The measure passed unanimously.
Councilmember Angelia Thomas read Resolution 09‑25‑03, accepting an Alabama Tourism Department legislative grant for the Recreation Department. Councilmember Malone moved adoption and Councilmember Tamalita Autry seconded; the council voted unanimously to accept the grant.
