The Lanett City Council recognized senior-center transportation staff at its Aug. 18, 2025 meeting.
Mayor Jamie L. Heard and Council presented a proclamation to Senior Center Manager Sandra Thornton and Recreation Director Trent McCants, who presented certificates to drivers Agnes Billingslea, Terrance Flournoy, Maki Potts, Triston Meadows and Gary Wright for completing CARES (Customer Assistance Readiness & Essential Sensitivity) Driver Certification Training. The minutes note that driver Travis Hargett was not in attendance.
The recognition highlights completion of customer-assistance and sensitivity training for staff who work with senior-center clients; the minutes do not specify whether the training was locally run or provided by a regional vendor, nor do they list associated costs.
