Commissioners also voted to resend and replace resolution 26R463 so additional details could be added before the board finalized the promotion language.
Commissioners approved separate, related resolutions to give Ballard discretion to authorize staff attendance at training and conferences during 2026, to authorize travel and overnight lodging associated with the director role, and to issue Ballard a county credit card for official expenses. The clerk explained that annual confirmations of certain JFS delegations and authorities are required for recordkeeping and to meet department procedures.
The board did not record public opposition during the meeting and no alternate compensation figures were discussed. The clerk summarized the motions and read the roll-call results for each item.
