The Louisa County Board of Supervisors on May 6 handled several routine administrative matters, including approval of a subdivision plat, claims and payroll changes, a right‑of‑way permit for fiber construction, and equipment and personnel actions for county facilities.
The Board approved Resolution 202518 to accept and certify the final plat for R & L Farms Subdivision Lot 1A; the resolution finds the plat conforms with Louisa County subdivision regulations and authorizes the chair and county auditor to certify it for recording.
County minutes show the Board approved claims totaling $116,089.90 and recorded a list of examined vendor claims and amounts. The Board reviewed payroll changes and hires for multiple county positions with stated pay rates and effective dates, and approved a retirement payout of $2,326.81 to part‑time cook Donnetta Brotherton.
Separately, the Board granted Windstream Iowa Communications LLC permission to bury 60 feet of fiber at 17102 County Road G44X in Letts (Project 32007). County Engineer Adam Shutt provided a brief operations update, reporting that the sign truck had arrived and a Mack truck was expected the following day.
The Board also approved hiring a temporary part‑time complex mower and authorized Chair Maine to buy a mower not to exceed $4,000. The Board reviewed April 2025 ambulance reports for Columbus Junction, Wapello and Morning Sun; the minutes record the review but do not record follow‑up action.
