The Jasper Arts Commission met in July and approved a slate of routine items, adopted a formal ticket resale and refund policy, and approved artist contract deposits and requests for vendor quotes.
A motion to approve the June minutes passed without opposition. The board then voted to pay outstanding bills and approved the month's restricted-use donations after motions were moved and seconded. The commission also approved payment of three artist deposits that staff said were included in signed performance contracts: one deposit of $2,750 (artist name not specified in the meeting exchange), Tabitha Meeks for $3,000, and Melissa Viasing for $6,500.
Under old business the board adopted resolution JCAC2026-1, described in the meeting as the formal resolution implementing the Jasper Arts ticket resale and refund policy. The meeting transcript records that the motion was submitted by Stephanie and seconded by Julie; members voted in favor.
Staff asked for permission to solicit vendor quotes for the 2027 gallery guide; the board authorized the solicitation and will review proposals at the August meeting. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn was seconded and approved.
Next steps noted in the meeting: staff will finalize vendor outreach for the gallery guide, process the approved deposits, and proceed with implementing the newly adopted resale and refund policy as it moves through counsel and finalization.
