Queenstown accepts FY2018 audit, schedules rezoning public hearing and holds closed personnel session

Town Manager/Clerk Amy Moore reported the FY2018 financial audit has been completed and submitted to the state and suggested inviting Pat Bowell, Finance Committee chair, to a future meeting to review the audited financials.
Moore provided the treasurer’s report with account balances: General Fund checking $244,167.74; Water/Sewer Fund checking $66,001.37; WWTP Project checking $14,242.36. The commission approved two separate motions to accept the Nov. 28, 2018 closed-session and regular meeting minutes (motions and seconds recorded; votes 2-aye, 0-nay).
Moore announced upcoming events and deadlines including the ESAM legislative dinner Jan. 22, 2019 (RSVP by Jan. 7), a Town Hall meeting Feb. 20, 2019 at Calvary United Methodist Church, and a public hearing on Jan. 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. on proposed Ordinance 18-05 titled “An Ordinance of the Town of Queenstown to Repeal in the Entirety and Reenact the Queenstown Zoning Map.”
During public comment, Dr. Peter Robertson asked whether Planning Commission members have term limits; Moore replied there is no term limit and said Dr. Robertson had been misinformed about a former member’s non-reappointment.
President Willis moved at 7:31 p.m. to enter a closed session to discuss personnel matters; the motion passed 2-aye, 0-nay. The commission reconvened at 8:05 p.m. and then adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
