Queenstown schedules Jan. 16 joint work session on Wheatland mixed-use plan; developer asked to brief planners

Perry Stutman told the commission the Planning Commission has been reviewing Wheatland’s proposed mixed-use concept — a change from the area’s previously considered all-commercial designation — and asked where the commissioners stood on that shift. Commissioners set a joint work session for Jan. 16, 2019 to discuss the concept with the Planning Commission.
Commissioner Al Hardee said Mr. Waterman, the developer associated with the Wheatland concept, indicated he had made changes to his original mixed-use plan that the Planning Commission might not yet know about. The commission and planners agreed to invite Mr. Waterman to the Jan. 2, 2019 Planning Commission meeting so all parties would have the same information before the joint work session.
The scheduling moves the Wheatland proposal into a formal review window and ensures the developer will present his most recent concept directly to the Planning Commission and commissioners prior to the joint session.
