The Presque Isle Planning Board unanimously approved a site plan Thursday for an expansion of the Presque Isle Animal Hospital at 79 Mapleton Road that would enlarge the building footprint and expand parking.
Tim Roix, an engineer with BRSA, presented the plan and said the proposal includes an addition to the existing facility, use of a newly acquired parcel for additional parking, relocation of dumpsters to the rear of the property, and included grading, drainage and erosion-control plans. He said the team has submitted plans to the State Fire Marshal and that "construction is anticipated to start as soon as weather permits." City staff completed a full departmental review and noted minor revisions had been implemented.
Bruce Roope moved to approve the site plan; Dave Perry seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The board briefly paused the meeting so members could sign the approved plan and reconvened to continue the agenda. The site-plan approval allows the project team to proceed with required permitting and final plan signing; the transcript notes further state-level reviews (State Fire Marshal) and local sign-off as remaining steps.
