Presque Isle Planning Board elects new officers for 2026

The Presque Isle Planning Board elected Andy Flewelling as chair, Tim Vernon as vice-chair and Rachel Murchison as secretary at its Feb. 5, 2026 meeting.
Bruce Roope stepped down as chair to facilitate the annual election and turned the meeting over to Tim St. Peter, deputy director of innovation and development, who presided over the officer selections. There were no other nominations for chair; the board approved Flewelling’s appointment by unanimous voice vote.
Tim Vernon was nominated for vice-chair after Rachel Murchison declined her own nomination; the board approved Vernon’s appointment unanimously. Rachel Murchison accepted the nomination for secretary and was approved unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the Jan. 15, 2026 minutes on a motion by Ward Gerow, seconded by Dave Perry; five members voted in favor and Rachel Murchison abstained because she was not present at the prior meeting.
The newly elected officers will lead the board’s work on the goals adopted for 2026 and preside over upcoming meetings beginning with the March agenda.
