Madison pool advisory committee unveils 2026 membership plan and March 3 community meeting

"Registration opens on Valentine’s Day," Katie Zurich said, announcing an early-bird window, an August-only membership option and new team and guest-pass options intended to improve affordability and access. The committee also proposed continued financial assistance for residents who need help with fees and said a refreshed pool website and Q&A will be posted for community reference.
Committee priorities include multi-generational programming (a senior swim hour and a senior potluck), reintroducing free chair yoga, continuing the Barracuda swim team and adding a kid's triathlon. Zurich thanked the borough for technological upgrades that will support new customer-facing features and said the committee will host a transparent decision-making session at the Chase Room of the Madison Public Library on March 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The presentation came as borough CFO Jim Burnett noted the draft budget contains an approximate $200,000 gap between pool appropriations and anticipated pool revenue — an item the council will monitor as part of final budget deliberations.
