At its July 6 meeting the Richland County Natural Resources Standing Committee approved multiple rezoning petitions that staff said would correct historic parcel splits or allow residential building on riverfront lots.
Petition 7c: Staff said two previously split ownership parcels are now held by a single owner totaling about 38 acres; the committee agreed the correct zoning is Ag Forestry and passed the petition by voice vote.
Petition 7e: After a corrected CSM (survey) was presented, the committee approved rezoning small areas from Ag Forestry to Ag Residential so legal descriptions match the new survey lines.
Petition 7f: Two parcels along Highway 60 near the Wisconsin River that had been legal nonconforming (formerly a bar burned years ago) were approved to be rezoned to residential so a new owner could build; staff noted site constraints may require a soil test and possibly a holding tank.
Petition 7g: A split-and-rezone will carve a 4.15-acre residential lot from a larger Ag Forestry parcel at Old Highway 88; the motion passed by voice vote.
Votes were taken by voice and recorded as passed for petitions 7c, 7e, 7f and 7g. Staff said some petitions required no CSM or additional paperwork because parcel acreage exceeded thresholds; others require routine soil testing or septic planning prior to building.
