The Waynetown Town Council approved several equipment and maintenance expenditures at its June 10 meeting, unanimously voting to fund items aimed at parks, ballfields and utilities.
Utility Superintendent John Warren reported he had approved $2,901 for pool landscaping although council guidance had set a $2,500 cap; Barry Lewis moved to approve the $2,901 invoice and the motion passed 5‑0. Warren also asked to replace a failing Snapper mower; the council approved purchase of a Ferris mower from Booth Machinery for $15,961 after Doug Harris moved the purchase and the vote passed 5‑0.
On ballfield improvements, Warren requested an extension of the foul ball fences and repair to a backstop; council approved a $1,800 contribution to WCI from the Pool & Pool Donation Fund to cover the fence work. For the town’s lift station generator, council authorized Warren to enter an agreement with Ideal for a monitoring device not to exceed $785; the council noted a discrepancy in the quoted annual monitoring fee (either $125 or $170) and did not resolve that point in the meeting.
Separately, Town Marshal Kyle Proctor won approval to buy new cameras for the park, pool and town hall and to surplus the old cameras and DVRs; those motions also passed 5‑0. Council recorded no dissent on the purchases and assigned follow‑up to department staff.
