Haslet board recommends low bid to redesign memorial garden, asks Fort Worth Monument to move monuments

The Haslet Park Board voted July 8 to recommend that the City Council award the Memorial Garden redesign contract to the lowest qualified bidder following a formal bid process.
Staff presented a bid tabulation showing a low bid of $112,567.88 from MHB and higher bids from other submitters. Cindy moved that the board recommend awarding the project to the low, qualified bidder and asked that the board request Fort Worth Monument specifically handle removal and replacement of the memorial monuments if council agrees; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Staff said the low bidder is qualified — MHB previously performed drainage work for the city — and noted that if the council awards the contract a pre-construction meeting would be scheduled. Engineering will confirm a construction schedule; staff estimated substantial completion could be 30–45 days, but provided an upper bound of less than 90 days depending on scope and site conditions.
If awarded, the project will proceed through the city’s contracting process and staff will keep the board apprised of the construction timeline and any coordination needed for monument relocation.
