The Haslet Park Board on July 8 tabled discussion of a proposed Fit Block outdoor fitness installation after a KOMPAN representative presented the turnkey product and financing options.
KOMPAN’s representative described the Fit Block Fund program and said the curated Fit Block solution lists at roughly $200,000 but could be reduced to about $100,000 under the fund’s discount. The vendor noted the product is designed to be inclusive, with arm ergometers and adjustable-strength equipment intended for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Board members asked how a fitness solution might be phased and where equipment nodes could be sited so caregivers can watch children on the playground while exercising. Cindy made a motion to table the Fit Block item to the next meeting and requested staff provide budget parameters and suggested locations; the motion passed unanimously.
Staff said they will collect site options, estimated costs for phased installations and any available grant or fund deadlines before the board’s next meeting.
