During roll call the council confirmed attendance and then adopted officer nominations: Mike Botelho nominated Tim McCarthy for Council President (seconded by Brian Cassidy); the council approved the nomination 5–0. Tim McCarthy then nominated Brian Cassidy as President Pro Tem (seconded by Mike Mumper); that motion also passed unanimously.
Treasurer Tracey McCay presented the treasurer report and reported a Pokagon Fund balance of $45,536; the council approved the report. Clerk Anne Heywood presented a check register totaling $112,935.49, which the council approved. Tracey said two CDs would roll over with Huntington at 3.5% and Everwise at 4.9%; another councilor suggested checking Honor Credit Union for rates.
The council approved giving village employees Monday, Dec. 22 off in addition to existing holiday closures (motion by Mike Botelho, seconded by Mike Mumper). The council also approved a Michiana House Walk on July 25, 2025, with proceeds directed toward hall renovation and accepted donated game tables for the hall.
These routine administrative and financial approvals were adopted by unanimous votes and were recorded without further amendment at the meeting.
