Webb council unanimously approves July and August bills, including $95,169 road-repair invoice

The Webb City Council unanimously approved routine minutes and financial reports and authorized payment of July and August bills during its Aug. 12 regular meeting.
Councilmember Hansen moved and Councilmember Gibson seconded to approve the minutes from the June regular meeting; all present voted aye. Riley moved and Hansen seconded to approve the June and July treasurer’s reports; that motion also carried unanimously. Gibson moved and Ganzevoort seconded a motion to allow the listed new bills to be paid; the motion carried on a unanimous vote.
The council reviewed the July bills totaling $24,971.86 and the August bills totaling $123,328.79. Notable line items in the August bills included a $95,169.36 invoice to Beck Excavating, Inc., listed under Local Option Tax for road repairs, and a $20,843 annual premium to ICAP listed in the General fund. Payroll and utility payments for the General fund were also included in the packet.
City Clerk Angie Smith presented an update on past-due utilities; the council discussed the item but no formal action was recorded.
