Board approves drone curriculum license, ROX grant participation, Title I policy and field trips; sick‑leave policies on first reading

Northern Local approved a Curriculum License Agreement with DARTdrones, LLC, participation in the ROX mental‑health grant, the Title I Parent and Family Engagement policy, a Resolution of Intent not to provide CTE in grades 7–8, and several high‑school and Ag/FFA field trips; three sick‑leave policies were approved on first reading.
The board approved several curriculum and policy items on Sept. 19, including a Curriculum License Agreement with DARTdrones, LLC intended for classroom use, and approved high school participation in the ROX Grant sponsored by the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board.
The Title I District Parent and Family Engagement policy was presented and approved, and the board adopted a Resolution of Intent not to provide career‑technical education in grades 7 and 8. The board also approved multiple high‑school field trips scheduled between Sept. 24 and Nov. 15, 2024 (including visits to SHE Dig, JA Inspire, Zane State College Fair, OSU, Hocking College and Mideast Buffalo and Zanesville campuses).
On first reading the board considered three sick‑leave policy revisions (po1432, po3432 and po4432) and approved them on first reading. All curriculum, grant participation, policy and field‑trip items on the agenda were adopted by roll call vote, 5–0.
The minutes list the dates and destinations for approved trips and identify grant participation and policy documents as attached to the board packet.
